The Brick House Community Resource Center teamed up with the Massachusetts Housing Authority to provide a grant for the creation of a colorful mural in a small neighborhood in downtown Turners Falls during the summer of 2007. The children ranged from 3 to 11 years old from Powertown Apartments on a rear wall of 22nd Third Street.

Kazokas has directed and organized the artistic creation teaching the children about mixing colors, design and paint application. Kazokas stated in a recent article published by the Greenfield Recorder, “Often times we get more paint on ourselves than on the wall. I feel like a big kid most of the time.” There was always time for play along with learning on these hot summer days. Kazokas also stated, “ I’d love to see more murals in Turners Falls, I think it beautifies the community and it brings people together.” |
